The free, online, multiplayer role-playing game RuneScape requires its players to abide by various rules and guidelines. Players that violate these safety guidelines are banned from the game. RuneScape is designed to keep players, their computers and their information safe.
Step1
Set up your user account using a password and a user name you do not use on other websites. This keeps your information safer. Never give your password to anyone.

Use caution during the game. Do not give any player your personal information. If a RuneScape player asks you for personal information such as your email address, name, phone number or personal address, contact RuneScape and give them that player's screen name. This is the safest way to play.

Chat with players online. If a player makes you feel uncomfortable, click the "Ignore" button-a small frowning face at the bottom of your screen. Do not arrange to meet any RuneScape players in real life. If anyone asks you to meet in real life, contact RuneScape and report them. This is strictly against the safety guidelines. If you are a minor, tell your parent or guardian immediately if someone you meet online wants to meet in person.

Play RuneScape with one account per person. Multiple accounts are illegal in RuneScape. The safety guidelines state that any player sharing accounts may be banned from the game.

Play only on RuneScape.com and do not use any add-on programs. There are many companies who say they are official add-on programs. RuneScape does not have add-ons. The fake add-on companies may steal your name and password.

Report any emails you receive that claim they are from RuneScape. RuneScape does not send out emails. They use the RuneScape message center to convey information.
