The Importance Of R4 Card

Now days only few people have got the idea what does R4 software actually means. But if you are really willing to know the details regarding this R4 software then this article will guide you to get the proper information and will also help you to get the details. If we talk about R4 software it basically consists of both additional applications as well as firmware.

The R4 card is a card that is basically in the shape of a normal game cartridge of the Nintendo DS and is inserted into the same slot as that of the game cartridges. The Slot 2 was the slot used for extendable memory earlier but now the R4 cards use the Slot 1 itself to execute its contents. The R4 box comes with a R4 card, a R4 carrying box case, a USB microSD card reader.

There is a small slot on the top left of the R4 card which is the provision for the microSD card which is the source drive for the R4 cards. The R4 is of course very easy to use as t is only the same mechanism as that of the normal game cartridges.

There is a software CD that comes along with this R4 Card box. The CD does not mean that the card cannot be accessed by any Operating System but is only the firmware of the R4 card that you have bought. Even though the R4 cards have been put to good use, there is a fact that these cards are sometimes not used legitimately and are used sometimes for illegal pirated games and applications. This is a major drawback for the popularity of the R4 cards. But yet since there are more of advantages that rule over it, R4 cards are much preferred everywhere.

The R4 cards boots up very easily just like the normal Nintendo DS games and applications. It does not need any kick start from any other boot up device to put itself to work. Likewise there is smooth functioning of the application without any pause or any stutter while reading the contents in the microSD card. This makes the R4 indeed a very much wanted device for great entertainment with the Nintendo DS.

R4 DS is applicable only if there is additional system software. And this additional system is also known as “firmware”. In order to run such a device the “firmware software” plays a very significant role as it the basic requirement if we are to run this kind of devices. It is mostly applicable now a day to play different types of games that are available in the internet. One has to update these devices every time as the devices will stay up to date and also helps in fine tune ones hardware to get the best performance.

Five Great Nintendo R4 Ds Hacks

1) Run Homebrew Software (Without Opening The Case/Voiding Your Warranty)

There's a lot of different ways to get a R4 DS running homebrew software (amateur and homemade apps and games that you download over the internet), but many of them require hardware hacking or other complicated steps such as shorting wires to bypass the R4 DS firmware.

The simplest solution is to buy a Slot-1 Card, of which there are a number available. The Cyclo R4 DS Evolution, which sells for about $50-60, is the best overall "all-in-one" solution, but it also requires the purchase of a MicroSD memory card (a 1GB or 2GB is perfectly adequate and these can be had from a number of online sources for about $10 each.) This is by far the easiest solution, as you simply "drag and drop" downloaded .NR4 DS files to the MicroSD card using a USB attachment that comes with the CycloR4 DS Evolution.

The CycloR4 DS automatically patches the software as it is copied to the memory card, so in most cases it is ready to run when you fire up the R4 DS. It also gives you a nice GUI on the R4 DS end which lets you either run software or run the MoonShell media player (which is used for movie files, music files and viewing pictures.) The Cyclo R4 DS also ad R4 DS some enhanced functionality to the R4 DS, such as real-time game save and restore, a slow-motion option and incremental display brightness adjustment.

There are some other competing Slot-1 CarR4 DS that work just as well and actually can be had for a little bit cheaper ($30-40), such as the R4 and the M3, but neither has quite the robust feature set that the Cyclo R4 DS does. If you really want to spend as little money as possible, other branR4 DS of Slot-1 Card go as low as $20 (for the R4 DS Toy), but generally the lower it costs the less features it offers, and the more likely it is you'll have to manually patch files before copying them over to the R4 DS.

Some good places to look for homebrew games and apps are the QJ.net forums, the NDS Homebrew Site and Wikipedia's list of R4 DS homebrew software . You'll find everything from emulators for other consoles and for computers, to ported versions of PC games such Doom and Starcraft, to iPhone-like apps.

Most of these R4 Card also have the side effect of being able to run ROM images of commercial software. But I know you're totally ethical and won't use them for that purpose.

2) Install R4 DSLinux

Linux is on almost every platform imaginable now, including the Nintendo R4 DS. The best way to get it going is to simply use a Slot-1 Card method as described in the previous section, and the installation instructions are very simple and straightforward. It comes packaged with a bunch of neat and useful apps, a virtual QWERTY keyboard you manipulate with the stylus, even Sudoku and Tetris games. It also works with the R4 DS WiFi, and there's a simple text-only web browser and an IRC client.

3) Turn the R4 DS into a pro-quality camera shot controller

This one is heavy on the technical specs and requires some C++ programming skill to replicate, but if you want a highly portable and customizable delayed and time-release shot controller for a professional camera it seems like it would easily be worth the effort (or worth enlisting a techie friend to help out in creating.)

Rather than try to explain something I admittedly don't understand very well, it's probably better just to link you to the inventor's page, which has a lot of helpful screen shots of it.

4) Turn the R4 DS into a phone with VoIP

The Nintendo R4 DS can be turned into a VoIP phone by using a homebrew app called SvSIP. This will require you to get homebrew software running on the R4 DS first, as outlined in the first section of this article. SIP is simply a VoIP (Voice over IP) protocol, and the caveat to this one is that you have to connect to a provider that supports SIP. Fortunately there are some sources of free SIP accounts out there, and a good starting point for searching is this list. This is really more likely to work consistently in Europe than in the U.S. at this point, however.

5) Turn the R4 DS into a GPS device

Now you have a great excuse to bring the R4 DS on camping trips! This one is possibly the most technically complicated as it involves building a serial interface for the R4 DS (which involves some simple soldering of wires and connections), and instructions for that process can be found at this page. This interface opens up a number of possibilities in addition to GPS, however, such as attachment of a keyboard and various USB devices.

Once done, however, it is simply a matter of connecting a GPS module and running a small program (again via homebrew metho R4 DS outlined in section 1 of this article) which uses Google Maps to display position. This is a fairly new hack and the author still wants to clean up his code completely before he posts it, but it will be seen at this link when it is ready.

R4 - Simplicity at Its Best

The R4 is a cartridge based storage device used in the Nintendo DS gaming console. The Nintendo DS isn't supplied with any form of re-writable storage media, thus making this the ideal alternative. Users are especially fond of it, for the functionality it provides. With the usage of a flash card in it, users can easily play not only the traditional official games for the Nintendo DS, but also a host of "home brew video games", which are unofficial games written by programmers as a hobby. Supports frequent changing of loaded games.

Smart card capabilities

As it is based off usage with a variety of a smart card, it stays true to its nature while allowing users to seamlessly transfer their files and data. Since it supports a non volatile memory card, data is retained even after you power down your device. While being used with the R4 SDHC card, which is considered a next generation smart card, it supports multiple functions. However it supports many more features than the average smart card.

Usage in the Nintendo DS

The R4 cartridge is considered as a must have peripheral for anyone with a Nintendo DS, and for good reason, it supports easy drag and drop, so all the user has to do it select the files he or she wants to copy, and simply drag them from their location on the computer and drop them onto the card. The cartridge extensively accepts a Micro SDHC card, thus making it possible for the user to run any number of applications, read e-books, watch movies, listen to music, browse pictures, and of course play video games.

Purely plug and play

From the moment you pull your R4 SDHC out of the box, to the moment you insert it into your spring loader in the Nintendo DS, everything falls right into place, the touch screen is supported. Plugs into SLOT-1, without the need for adapters or pass cards, and you need not worry since it's a flush sitting r4 card, and doesn't jut out of the device. Full support for the sleep mode has also been worked in, and works well with no issued reported. It is works with either FAT16 or FAT32 systems, and works independent of the OS your running.

Storage capacity and speed

The storage capacity of the R4 SDHC can be anywhere from 4GB to the newly released 32GB. Write speed can vary from 6x to 40x. Cards are divided into classes depending on the speed they support, Class 2 supports up to 2mbps (13x), Class 4 supports up to 4mbps (26x), and Class 6 supports up to 6mbps.(40x)

Tips to use newly purchased cartridge

Always create separate folders for games, movies, music, etc. Always back-up data, in case you lose your card. Avoid taking out the cartridge when not required, it weakens the already problematic spring loader in the DS.

Piracy for all electronics is high in today's market. Ensure you get a genuine cartridge and SDHC. Visit nds-gear.co.uk to get great deals on R4 cards and R4 SDHC cartridges.

Top 10 2009 Nintendo R4 DS Unique Facts

After creating the “Top 10 2008 R4 Nintendo Wii Unique Facts” list, I decided that it would only be fitting if I did the same for all three versions of the Nintendo DS (Original, Lite, DSi)! I'm sure you'll find some pretty intriguing Fact s regarding the DS system.

Featured Videos10:22Pokémon Diamond / Pearl Walkthrough Part 703:15Super Mario Bros “Spring of Death” Glitch TutorialBy 5min Life Videopedia Well, I'm sure that all of you found at least one interesting Fact about the Wii in my “Top 10 2008 Nintendo Wii Unique Fact s” article.

But what do you REALLY know about the Nintendo DS, DS Lite and DSi gaming systems? It's time to find out the true extent of your knowledge about the popular handhelds! These are the Top 10 2008 Nintendo DS Unique Fact s!

Fact 10 - Local Wireless Distance

Two or more Nintendo DS systems can communicate with each other over local wireless up to a distance of 30 feet!

Fact 9 - Codename: Nitro

Before its release, the system's code-name was Nitro, resulting in the letters “NTR” appearing in the serial number written on the back of game cards and the system itself.

Fact 8 - Battery Life

For the original Nintendo DS R4 Card, on a full 4-hour charge, the Fact ory 850 mAH battery lasts about 10 hours. Battery life is affected by multiple Fact ors including speaker volume, use of one or both screens, backlighting, and use of wireless connectivity. The biggest effect on battery life is caused by using the backlight, which can be turned off in the main menu screen, or in selected games.

For the Nintendo DS Lite, on a full 3-hour charge, the battery will last up to 20 hours on the lowest backlight setting, and up to 8 hours on the brightest.

For the Nintendo DSi, on a full 2 and ?-hour charge, the battery will last up to 14 hours on the lowest backlight setting, and up to 4 hours on the brightest.

Fact 7 - Hacking the Mainframe

Since the release of the Nintendo DS, a great deal of hacking has occurred involving the DS's fully rewritable firmware, Wi-Fi connection, game cards that allow SD storage, and software use. There are now many different emulators for the DS such as: NES, SNES, Sega Master System, Sega MegaDrive, Neo-Geo Pocket, Neo-Geo (arcade) as well as many other older consoles like Game Boy Color. Due to the processor power and RAM limitations, the DS cannot emulate Nintendo 64, PlayStation, PS2, Dreamcast, GameCube, Xbox, PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii or Xbox 360 games.

There are a number of cards which either have built-in flash memory, or a slot which can accept an SD, or MicroSD (like the DSTT and R4) cards. These cards allow the user to play music, movies and load homebrew and commercial games.

In South Korea, many video game consumers exploit illegal copies of video games, including for the Nintendo DS. In 2007, 500,000 copies of DS games were sold, while the sales of the DS hardware units was 800,000.

Fact 6 - Color Therapy?

Nine official colors of the Nintendo DS were available through standard retailers. Titanium (silver and black) were available worldwide, Electric Blue was exclusive to North and Latin America. There was also a red version of the DS which was bundled with the game Mario Kart DS R4 Card . Graphite Black, Pure White, Turquoise Blue and Candy Pink were available in Japan. Mystic Pink and Cosmic Blue were available in Australia and New Zealand. Japan's Candy Pink and Australia's Cosmic Blue were also available in Europe and North America through a Nintendogs bundle, although the colors were just referred to as “pink” and “blue”; however, these colors were only available for the original style Nintendo DS.

The Nintendo DS Lite is currently available in a multitude of colors: Polar White, Onyx Black, Coral Pink, Crimson Black, Cobalt Black, Metallic Silver and Metallic Rose. Of course, aside from the color, there is no difference in hardware or system updates when compared to the original Polar White version.

Finally, the Nintendo DSi currently comes in Matte White and Matte Black colors.

Apparently, the reason behind releasing a system in multiple colors is purely on the marketing side. Although I can't explain it, several articles on the internet “claim” that certain colors appeal to certain people, though as I mentioned earlier, the difference is solely aesthetic.

Fact 5 - DS Sales Surpass Record Numbers

As of October 1, 2008, the original style DS and the DS Lite has sold 6,449,206 and 17,080,747 units, respectively, in Japan, according to Famitsu. As of December 2, 2008, the DS, DS Lite and DSi combined to sell 24,239,590 units in Japan alone, according to Enterbrain.

Fact 4 - Keep that Remote on the Nintendo Channel

On May 7, 2008, Nintendo released the Nintendo Channel for download on the Wii. The Nintendo Channel uses Nintendo's WiiConnect24 to download Nintendo DS demos through the Nintendo Channel. From there, a person can select the game demo they wish to play and, similar to the Nintendo DS Download Stations at retail outlets, download the demo (temporarily) to their DS.

Fact 3 - Best-Selling Games

As of September 30, 2008, the best-selling game of the Nintendo DS has been Nintendogs, most likely because of its vast appeal to both young and old gamers. The second-best selling game as of September 30, 2008 is the New Super Mario Bros., a revival on the classic side-scrolling Mario franchise.

Fact 2 - Regional Division

Past Nintendo systems were region-locked, meaning that if you bought a Nintendo system in North America, it would only run games made in North America. This is not the case with the Nintendo DS. The Nintendo DS is region-free in the sense that any system will run a Nintendo DS game purchased anywhere in the world; however, the Chinese version games can only be played on the Chinese iQue DS, whose larger firmware chip contains the required Chinese character glyph images.

Also, as with Gameboy games, some games that require both players to have a Nintendo DS game card for multiplayer play will not necessarily work together if the games are from different regions (i.e. a Japanese Nintendo DS game may not work with a North American Nintendo DS game, though some titles, such as Mario Kart DS, are mutually compatible). With the addition of Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, certain games can be played over the Internet with users of a different region game.

Some Wi-Fi enabled games (i.e. Mario Kart DS) allow the selection of opponents by region. The options are “Regional” (“Continent” in Europe) and “Worldwide,” as well as two non-location-specific settings. This allows the player to limit competitors to only those opponents based in the same geographical area. This is based on the region code of the console in use.

The Nintendo DSi, however, has region-block for the DSWare downloadable games.

Fact 1 - Dogs and Wars Drop the Price

The first Nintendo DS R4 Cards variant originally retailed for $149.99 USD, but one day prior to the release of Nintendogs and Advance Wars: Dual Strike, the price dropped a whopping $20.00 to encourage sales! It just goes to show you that sometimes, it really is worth waiting for your favorite game to come out before buying the system.

Download SNES Emulator and ROMs to the R4 Card

The R4 cards, has many capabilities including being able to play the classic super Nintendo games on the Nintendo DS. This guide will provide directions as to how to download an SNES emulator and games.

Make sure to download the latest version, which will be the first link as you scroll down the page. It will be a zip file, so a program such as winrar, is required to unzip and extract the files.

Create a separate folder on the desktop. Name it "test" or whatever you want. Drag the emulator zip file into the test folder and unzip the files there. You will notice a few different files after you have extracted the zip file. The file with the extension, ".nds" is the file that you want to put onto the R4 card. Insert the micro SD card containing the appropriate firmware, into the USB adapter. Navigate to the folder of the device, where the firmware and other files are. Create a new file and title it SNES; make sure to include all capitals. Don't put the SNES folder into any other folders. It is to be completely independent. This folder will store the emulator and SNES ROMs.

Go back to the test folder and drag the SNEmulDS.nds file to the SNES folder of the micro SD card. Do not include any other files. Your file might have a different name, but as long as the extension is ".nds r4" then you are on the right track.

Return the micro SD to the R4 SDHC cartridge, and input into the DS. After turning on the DS go to the games section on the left of the screen. There you will see the SNES emulator. When you click on the emulator it will direct you to a blank screen; this is because you don't have any ROMs on the file yet.

Hover the mouse over the ROM files navigation bar. A drop list will appear. Navigate to Super Nintendo and click on it. An A-Z directory of SNES games will appear. Select a SNES ROM to download. Click "download your file" and save the ROM to your desk top. It's a zip file so it will have to be extracted. After extracting the zip file, you will see a file with the extension ".smc". This file is the ROM, and the emulator can only read ROMs with the ".smc" extension.

Import the micro SD card to the computer once again, and open up its root directory to the SNES file. Transfer the ROM with the .smc extension over to the SNES folder. Now it's time to test the ROM out on the DS. Just as done before, click into the game section on the DS screen. Enter the SNES emulator then you will see game on the screen. Tap on the game using your stylus, or press the "a" button to activate it then the game will begin.

My personal thoughts on the emulator are that it could use a little more work. For example, the game stages on most ROMs are really distorted to the point where game play is impossible. Some games don't even start at all. I wouldn't really count on getting any high expectations from the SNES module for the DS, but there are games that you can play without any problems. Just test out the games and see if everything works out well. There might be updates for a newer emulator, so you might want to look into that whenever possible. Some updates might have been made to improve GUI issues with the games. I really hope this was able to help.

Emulator specifically for the Nintendo DS through the use of the R4 card.Make sure the file extensions are ".smc". The emulator will only read these files.

Pneumatic or servo? Choosing the right gripper for your automated laboratory process

The demand for speed to market requires that drug discovery, biotechnology and clinical diagnostics labs work faster, more accurately and more efficiently than in the past. Increasingly, lab technicians and scientists seeking greater levels of automation are turning to gripper solutions that mechanize what have traditionally been manual and mundane tasks, allowing them to work on more value-added activities.

Currently, a wide variety of pneumatic and servo grippers are available, each with its own set of unique attributes. It is critical that manufacturers select the appropriate gripper for their process. By understanding the specific advantages of servo and pneumatic grippers, life scientists can make smarter choices in selecting the best tool for any given application--as well as maximize the benefits in accelerated research and development processes, reduced human error, increased volumes of sample tracking and improved sterile conditions.

The majority of grippers utilized by manufacturers today are pneumatic grippers. These low-cost end-of-arm tools are cost effective and have the ability to produce and maintain considerably more force than servo grippers. While more expensive, servo grippers are necessary when more control is required for more delicate and complex assembly and handling applications.

Servo grippers, with their human-hand-like design, offer greater degrees of freedom and are appropriate for many medical applications. With the added expense of servo grippers, manufacturers need to carefully analyze their needs in order to make an educated decision on which gripper to design into their workcell. Applied Robotics, Inc., a global supplier of end-of-arm tooling solutions, conducted a thorough comparative analysis and has formulated the following application questions based on flexibility, control and environmental requirements to help manufacturers make that decision.

Preparing Your Farming Plot in Runescape

Ok, you’ve got your farming tools and your seeds, now what? Here is what to do in preparing your farming plot and keeping it safe.

Runescape Farming is two parts gatherings. One is gathering up the items that you need to get the things done. The other is gathering up your crops once they are all harvested. To make sure that you have a healthy crop and can get a good bit of items out of plot.

Getting your Plot Prepped

You’ll need to get a rake, a bucket of compost, and a seed dibber to prep your plot. You’ll be raking to remove the weeds from the plot, usually three layers deep (netting you 4 experience per layer to weed). After that you’ll need to put the compost on the lot, spreading it out (netting you 18 experience to spread). Lastly you will then need to use the seed dibber to make holes to plant your seed.

Making Compost

There are regular composts and there are super composts. To make up a compost you will need items like weeds, produce, flowers, and other grown items and put them in a compost bin. Close it up once it is full and wait an hour. Then you will need to get it out of the bin with 15 empty buckets. This compost will net you 4.5 experience for removing it per bucket.

Super Compost will allow your crops to grow better and faster. It will also make your crops be more abundant. It will depend what you put in your compost bin as to what type of compost you will get out of there. Super Compost is made from pineapples or better fruits, avantoe or better herbs, Jangerberry or better berries, tree roots, and watermelon. You need to put any combination of 15 of these items to make a Super Compost. Adding anything else will net you regular compost.

Protecting Your Crops

There are different ways to protect your crops from disease and prey runescape gold. You can protect some crops by putting flowers in the flower pots. Certain flowers will help certain crops. Marigolds will protect tomatoes, potatoes, and onions. Rosemary will protect cabbage. Nasturtiums will protect watermelons.

Another help in the farming plot are scarecrows. When you are at a level 23 in farming you will be able to make a scarecrow. They will scare off birds from your Sweetcorn. These are made with an empty sack with straw from a bale of hay. Then stick the sack of hay onto a bronze spear. Then stick a watermelon on top of the spear for a head and you’ll have a scarecrow to use in the empty allotment patch.

Overview

You’re going to have to make sure that your farming plot is good and ready for your seeds before you begin planting. It needs to be weed free, it needs to have good nutrients from compost, and it needs to be seed dibbed so that it is ready for seeds. You can protect your crops by planting other flowers around to prevent disease or by making scarecrows to scare off disease carrying prey.

Make Money And Train Combat

A lot of players on Runescape not only want to be rich, but also, want to be tough, strong, have good combat skills. Well, not to worry. If you are looking to train, there are still some great ways you can make tons of money along the way! Here are some suggestions on what you can train for certain levels, and how you can make money by training on them at the same time!

1. Killing Men at Edgeville and Getting Their Bones (Level 3-10)

Men are ideal to train on at low levels because they only do a maximum of 1 damage, and have a pretty good ammount of EXP as well. Not only that, but the men in Edgeville (the ones in the barn) are situated very close to the Edgeville Bank (just north of it). This is good not only because you could get food from the bank if you wanted, but also, it serves as a good place to deposit your bones that you get from killing the men.

You may be wondering, why should I be getting the bones? Well my friend, those bones the men drop are worth 80gp EACH! With the introduction of the Grand Exchange, the prices for bones have spiked up because it serves as a cheaper alternative to the big bones for people who want to increase their prayer level. So you know that demand for the bones will never run out. All you do is kill the men, getting exp, and pick up the bones. Once your inventory is filled with bones, you just go south of the barn to the Edgeville Bank. Deposit all the bones and repeat the process.

Once you have enough bones (depends on how much you want to sell at a time), head on over to the Grand Exchange. Put up and offer to sell the bones and let the GE take care of the rest. Botta -bing-botta-boom! You now have gold! Lets take a look at how much gold we can expect:

100 Bones x 80ea (price to sell at) = 8,000GP Total from selling all the bones

500 Bones x 80ea = 40,000GP

1000 Bones x 80ea = 80,000GP!!

WOW! So not only are you getting TONS of experience for your combat levels, but you are also getting TONS of money!

Once you have reached a combat level of 10, you are ready to proceed to the next thing to train on.

2. Cows Help you “MOO”ve on Up! (Level 15-40)

Many people in Runescape train on cows during their lower levels, but many fail to realize how much money they could be making while on their training. Some do realize how to make money while training on cows, but fail to pick the one best secret spot to train at.

How can money be made by killing cows, and what is the secret spot to train on them?

Answer: Cowhides and Gnome Copters

Cowhides run for about 120 GP EACH on the Grand Exchange! That means for every cow you are killing, you are receiving 120GP. That can add up especially when you start killing hundreds of cows a day for your training.

Most people don’t realize the value of cowhides, and so they just leave them on the floor. However, some people do, and so they choose to train on cows at places like the Fally Cow Barn and the Cow Barn at Lumbridge (the one north of Al Kharid). However, these people run into the trouble of having to travel quite a distance in order to bank their full inventories of heavy cowhides. This has been the only down side to training on cows until the release of the Gnome Copter area.

Here is the procedure you should take to becoming wealthy while training your combat on cows!

1. Clear your inventory and head Over to the Gnome Copters Area (North of Draynor Village, East of Draynor Manor)

2. Once there, start slaughtering the cows

3. Pick up ONLY the cowhides. If you are training prayer, go ahead and pick up the bones, but don’t let them take up space in your inventory.

4. Get an inventory full of cowhides

5. Head over to the deposit boxes

6. Deposit all the cowhides and repeat the process

The Gnome Copters area is relatively new to Runescape, and so the Cow killing advantage there is not known to many. Training here eliminates the need to go far in order to bank the cowhides, ensuring you can train and money money like a machine.

Cowhides easily sell at the Grand Exchange for 120GP a pop, so get almost 1000 cowhides, and thats over 100K!

3. Killing Giants Will Make You a Money Giant (Level 40-50)

Now that you are a bit stronger and hopefully have some good armor, or at least can kill fast, it is time to train on Giants. To get to where the Giants are, you need to have a Brass Key, then head over to this little roofed room west of Varrok, near the bridge from Varrok to Barbarian Village.

Once there, use the Brass Key with the door and climb down the ladder inside. Welcome to the Giants training Area.

Here you will find tons of Giants that you can train on. They are excellent combat exp, and they have good drops. But what you want to get from them is Big Bones that are worth a unlike anything compared to the last step. Giants drop Big Bones (always) and Limpwurt Roots (sometimes). The Big Bones are worth big bucks, at 410gp EACH! And Limpwurt Roots are worth even more, at 670gp EACH!!! Just getting an inventory full of them is worth good money.

Once you’re inventory is filled with Big Bones and Limpwurt Roots, just head east to Varrok, bank the goods, and come back to resume your training/money-making. Then head on over to the Grand Exchange and turn your Limpwurt Roots and Big Bones intro BIG BUCKS (meaning tons of GP)!

If you can kill 1000 Giants, and you pick up the big bone each time, then…

Amount of Big Bones x Price Each = Total Value

1000 x 540 = 410,000GP+!!

And if you were to get the same amount of Limpwurt Roots, then…

Amount of Limpwurt Roots x Price Each = Total Value

1000 x 670 = 670,000GP+!!

Meaning, killing around 1000 Giants and picking up the Limpwurt Roots and Big Bones can make you an overnight millionaire and train those stats! What are you waiting for?

Pro’s of training here: Good exp, good money from Big Bones (410gp ea) and Limpwurt Roots (670 ea), and makes more money than the next step about Zombies.

Cons: Usually a busy place, so at times it may get annoying to find a giant to kill, and varrok bank isn’t right next to the place.

Personally, if you want to make big money and train your stats, Giants is the place to do it. However, if you want to get more efficient training with the sacrifice of making a little less money, read on about the Zombie Graveyard.

4. The Zombie Graveyard (Level 50-65)

The Zombie Graveyard is a dangerous place located in the Wilderness. Luckily players can no longer attack you in the wilderness, so at least you are safe from them. But there’s still the Rev. Ghosts that come out randomly and attack. Not only that, but its a multi zone, so 5 zombies that are level 18-24 can attack you all at once! Its a very dangerous place to be for low level players.

Why then, would this place be the next place to train? What would make this place so worth it? There are planks laying around there that are worth 200GP EA, thats what! There are a few planks laying around the floor of the Zombie Graveyard, and planks are always in demand by members who need to train their construction levels. So just keep training, and picking up the planks. Its a good training area too, because you can just leave your character there, and the zombies will automatically attack you, so its almost like auto training your combat. Just be careful, because its a multi-attack zone, and multiple zombies can attack you at once (thats why its suggest to be a higher level and have good armor). Once you are done picking up the planks, there’s even a convenient place located to bank the planks right next to the Graveyard at the Bounty Hunters bank (just go west of the Graveyard to get to Bounty Hunters). Bank your planks there and repeat the process.

Once you have enough (depending on how much you want to sell, head on over to the Grand Exchange and sell at will. Lets see how much money you can really make out of these planks:

100 Planks x 200ea (price to sell at) = 20,000GP Total from selling all the planks

500 Planks x 200ea = 100,000GP

1000 Planks x 200ea = 200,000GP!!

Pro’s of training here: Good exp, never busy, sometimes its like auto training, and bank is nearby to store items.

Cons: Risky because of Rev. Ghosts and planks are not worth as much as the big bones and limp roots the Giants drop.

5. Cockroach Soldiers (Level 65-??)

Cockroach Soldiers drop some of the best items on F2P, and its no wonder that this place always has higher level F2Pers busy with training.

The first thing you must do is complete the Stronghold of Player Safety (located in between Barbarian Village and Edgeville). Once you have completed it, climb down the crevice. You will be at an underground dungeon with tons of different cockroaches. Locate an area with Cockroach Soldiers and begin training.

Recommended Stats

Range Level 70+ (if you choose to Range them)

Attack 40+, Strength 65+, Defence 40+ (if you choose to Melee them)

Range is the easiest and most effective way to kill them since they are weaker against Ranged attacks, and also because your Dragon Hide armor provides excellent defense against their ranged Magic attacks.

Cockroach soldiers have a very high defense against magic attacks, and an average defense against Melee attacks.

Equipment:

Range Set:

Leather or Dragon Hide Coif

Green Dragon Hide Body

Green Dragon Hide Chaps

Green Dragon Hide Vambraces

A good amount of Iron Arrows

Leather Boots

Cape

Melee Set:

Full Rune Set

Fighting Boots (from Stronghold of Security)

Safety Gloves

Rune scimitar

Cape

Inventory:

2-3 Strength Potions for Meleers

Food (preferably Tuna or Lobster)

Tactics

If you are ranging, just go ahead and start ranging. Make sure it’s not too close to you or it will start melee attacking.

If you are Melee, drink a strength potion and then begin attacking. Once you see your Strength Level has gone down to 2 levels above the regular strength level, take another sip of the strength potion.

Drops

Here are some of their good drops that will make you a good ammount of money:

Rune Scimitar (somewhat rare)

Rune Square Shield (somewhat rare)

Rune Chain Body (somewhat rare)

1-20 Law Runes (common)

1-17 Death Runes

All Uncut Gems (common)

3 Noted Mithril Ore (common)

1 Noted Adamant Ore

1 Noted Runite Ore (very rare)

So you can see how there is a lot to be made from killing cockroach soldiers. To make even more money from killing monsters, you should consider going members.
