R4 DSi and DSi XL R4 Card storage devices for Nintendo DSi XL DSi are just launched

Nintendo DSi / DSi XL R4 cards storage devices are some of the devices used to store a licensed developer's work-in-progress images, homebrew video games, or downloaded commercial games.

Different brands of R4 DS Card differ in their support for homebrew, support for DS and Game Boy Advance ROMs, special features, such as playing media files, physical size and cost. Strictly speaking, a storage device is not necessary for DS with FlashMe installed because homebrew can be sent to the DSi using WMB. However, this is not a very portable method because the DSi needs to be within range of a suitable Wi-Fi card.

Below is a list of Flash Cards that have been tested and known to work on the DSi and DSi XL.

DSTT & DSTTi

DSTT is a very popular card compatible with SDHC cards.

The most common problem with a legit DSTT card is the infamous "Menu?" screen, much like the dreaded R4 "Loading" screen, which is usually a software issue and can be easily fixed by installing the software from the DSTT website onto your micro SD card. Although the OS (menu) files must be present in the root of the SD card, the software is intelligent in that the ROMs may be placed anywhere on the flash card will still be found. The DSTT also exists in a version compatible with the recently released Nintendo DSi which is called the DSTTi.

The DSTT and DSTTi are versatile beyond simply playing homebrew and ROM software though, one of the most useful features being that they incorporate cheat support in a variety of games.

The DSTTi has been tested and reported to work with the DSi XL console released in March 2010.

R4i, R4i Gold Cards

R4DS (Revolution for DS), YushenDS Card (YDC) and M3DS Simply are essentially the same hardware product. The same method is used to distinguish between Chinese, English and Japanese (and German for the YDC) versions of the cards. The firmware for the various brand and language versions can be readily patched to work on other language or brand versions of the hardware.

The original R4 card was replaced in late 2007 by the "R4 version 2" or "R4v2". This new version removed the need for a spring mechanism to insert a Micro-SD card. Instead, it simply had a slot in the back where a user could manually slot a Micro-SD card in. This eliminated the problems of the original R4 Revolution DS Card where the spring mechanism reportedly malfunctioned after prolonged use.

Unlike newer cards, the R4 cannot read SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) cards due to hardware limitations, although certain clones add this functionality. There exist several clones of the R4 card that are capable of using SDHC cards, but some studies have suggested that certain types of these cards have high failure rates. One clone, named the "R4 SDHC", is reported to be reliable. R4DS is now known to be outdated, as many other flashcarts are known to be better and cheaper (Acekard 2, M3 Real Supercard One, and Edge), and a genuine R4DS is hard to find.

R4 Media - Useful Accessory for the NIntendo DS

The R4 Card is quite likely the coolest and most useful accessory for the NIntendo DS and the Nintendo DSi (The R4i SDHC Card is for the Nintendo DSi console). More than allowing you to play games, it opens up and makes possible a whole slew of features and functions that had before it's release - not been possible on the DS or DSi.

A full blown media player - or media enhancer is what best describes the R4 Media features. While it is a homebrew card, allowing you to play and use the latest homebrew games and homebrew applications. It's the R4 Media functions that are really the selling point of this fantastic little card. Before the release of the R4 Card, the Nintendo DS could do little more than play games, and enable chatting with the built in pixo chat function between friends. All fantastic, and truly unqiue. But what the R4 Card did was anable a whole slew of other media options that could then be used on or with your DS or DSi.

Media with the R4 is where it's at. That's the one function that almost all of our customers want and look for when the buy and r4 card. They want to be able to enhance their Nintendo DS experience and enable their Nintendo DS to utilize all sort of media, including Movies (videos), digital pictures, Music (in MP3 format), ebooks, web browsing, and more. The R4 Media functions allow for all of that - and more. With the R4 Card you're not limited to only using your Nintendo DS or DSi to play games. Though the homebrew games are fantastic, and the homebrew applications even more unique, the r4 card enables you to do much, much more.

With the included R4DS Moonshell you'll be consuming and using your media - your way. The R4DS moonshell project is a piece of homebrew software (remember how we rave about homebrew software here) that is compatible with and works with all types of media. Anything from yrou holiday digital pictures, right up to the latest movies you've converted from your DVD collection.

All types of media on the R4 are supported by the R4DS moonshell software. And best of all, the R4DS moonshell is absolutely free.

You can watch movies on your NDS by converting your DVD's or DivX files to the supported moonshel format, and drag and drop them on to your R4 Card MicroSD and you'll be playing your movies and watching them on the go. If you want to read ebooks, then the R4DS Moonshell makes that possible too - all eBooks in TXT format can be read right on your R4 Card. What's amazing about the eBook function is that there are eBook readers costing upwards of $200 - $400 or more, and the R4 Card for the DS will let you read eBooks for under $30.00.

You Can find out more about the R4 Cards and the R4i SDHC Card by browsing our selection of R4 Cards and microSD Combos. We're sure you'll find one that meets your needs.

R4 DS Flash Card | The Choices

When making your purchasing decion on which R4 DS Flash Card you would like to buy, it's very important to note the model of the Nintendo DS that you own. Just as there are several versions of the R4 DS Flash Card, there are also several versions of the Nintendo DS / DSi as well.

If you have a regular / original Nintendo DS or the newer Nintendo DS Lite, then you're options are wide open. Wide open because you can use either the R4 Card or the R4i SDHC Card. You have such a wide choice of options because the R4 DS Flash Card was designed specifically for the Nintendo DS and DS Lite. While they don't work in the newer Nintendo DSi or DSi XL Console. Likewise, the R4i SDHC Was designed for the newer Nintendo DSi and DSi Xl Console - but - it is completely backwards compatbile and works with the original Nintendo DS and DS Lite as well.

What's our suggestion? That's a tough call, and we don't want to seem like we're trying to upsell any of our customers. The truth of the matter is that it really depends on you. If however you have the original Nintendo DS or the DS Lite, and plan to upgrade your system to the newest DSi or DSi XL model, then the choice is clear. You'll have to purchase the R4i SDHC Card. If however you are not loing to upgrade your DS console, and have the older model - then the R4 DS Flash Card will work just fine.

We're always all about future proofing our gadgets and game systems. And as such, we recommend the same to our customers. If you're absolutely certain that there will be no DSi or DSi XL in your future, you can save a few dollars by buying the regular R4 Cards.

We hope this article helped in your purchasing decision. Take a look below for the 2 different recommended R4 Cards. You can click on the image to get right to the product page itself to find out more about both versions of the R4 DS Flash Card.

Many people are suspicious towards the R4 R4i card for DS/DSi. I've seen an endless amount of posts asking about the R4i SDHC / R4 SDHC flash cards, and whether they genuinely work or not.

Many people are suspicious towards the Nintendo DS R4i / R4 cards for Nintendo DS / DSi. I've seen countless posts asking about the r4i-sdhc.com Nintendo DS R4i SDHC / R4 SDHC flash cards, and whether they legitimately work or not. When it comes to electronics manufactured in China, people are usually skeptical towards them. It's not an unnatural reaction, of course. In this article, I will try to explain what Nintendo DS R4i / R4 cards are, and attempt to disprove some rumours about them that have been floating around on the internet. Source: http://www.R4i-R4.com/

A Nintendo DS R4 / R4i card is a storage device that enables you to store and view data such as JPGs, documents, videos, MP3s or homebrew games. The Nintendo DS R4 / R4i card bypasses the encryption on the Nintendo DS, enabling files to be run straight from a storage medium such as a Micro SD card. Second generation flash cards such as the Nintendo DS R4 / R4i utilize the DS game card slot (SLOT-1), instead of the GBA game card slot (SLOT-2), making them much more convenient.

In essence, the Nitendo DS R4 / R4i is just a card which enables you to run multimedia files or game files on your DS. No hacking is required; it is strictly a 'soft mod' that will not harm your NDS in any way. You just insert the R4i / R4 card into the cartridge slot, and the Nintendo DS R4 / R4i software will run.

Now, a lot of people ask why there are so many variations of the Nintendo DS R4 card out there. This happens because there are many companies out there who make knockoffs of the original Nintendo DS R4 SDHC card. A lot of these cards, particularly the ones that are linked to Taiwanese websites may harm your DS. Make sure to always do research online before buying your R4 / R4i card.

R4 DS V3 - Two different versions of the R4 Card

There's a lot of talk online about the R4 DS Cards and the different models and versions that have become available, in this article we'll cover the R4 DS V3. Truth be known there's really only 2 different versions of the R4 Card as many of the others are simply clones and copies of the original R4 Cards. They are not officially released, and while they are supported to some extent, they certainly do not have the same support as many of the other brands.

You See, the R4 Team divided into 2 different groups after a whole slew of clones of their famous r4 Cards were put out to the masses. This in turn ended up being the reason for 2 different versions of the R4 DS Card.

What we often receive in email is "I want the newest version of the R4 DS card... You know, the R4 DS V3 card that just came out". While putting model numbers and versions numbers after a product name may mean something to some people, the fact of the matter remains that other than this new fangled model number - there really is no difference between the R4i SDHC Card or the R4 Card itself. Except that this "new" R4 DS V3 card is not an official card. It's an attempt by a factory to make their own copy of the R4 DS Card seem like the newest version.

The question that still requires and answer is of course which R4 card you should buy. As we've stated since the start, you should only ever purchase an official version - one that received the highest level of support and firmware updates. And truly, there are one a couple to choose from - both of which are available here at MyR4Card.com

See below for the 2 different versions of the R4 Card and the memory card combo options that are available. It all boils down to which Nintendo DS you have today - and whether or not you want to upgrade in the future.

The R4i SDHC Card for the Nintendo DS / DS Lite, DSi and DSi XL - Regardless of which NDS you have today, you can use this card on all versions of the Nintendo DS. If you think you'll be upgrading sometime in the future from your NDS or DS lite to the new DSi, then this would be the card for you.

The original R4 Cards - the one that supports MicroSDHC Cards up to 32Gbyte and works on all Nintendo DS, and the Nintendo DS Lite consoles. This unit will not work on the new DSi or DSi XL systems - and since the R4i SDHC Was released to cover those models - there are no plans to provide any compatibility for the DSi or DSi XL for this version. However, if you have a DS or DS Lite - then this means some savings for you - as the R4 SDHC Card is less expensive than it's R4i versions.

Rick Dangerous Lands On Your Nintendo DS with The R4 DS Card

Rick Dangerous crashes on to your Nintendo DS or DSi with the help of the R4 Cards. Now help save Rick from the cluthces of the evil tribes in this amazing classic platformer.

One of my earliest recollections of a great platfrom game came in the form of a knock off of Indiana Jones type main character. Undoubltly based right on the hero himself made renowned by the movies. With giant balls made of stone rolling after you right in the first five minutes of that game. And what was the identity of this unexpected hero? A young Indian Jones? No... It was none other than Core Designs Rick Dangerous. It was one of the many reasons - and games - that I had such a love for my old Miggy 500. So much so that I ended up purchasing another Amiga 500 on Ebay years and years after selling my original.

very well, I am assuming a lot, and assuming that everyone reading this will have heard of or player Rick Dangerous. For those of you that haven't, here is VERY quick run down. Rick Dangerous is a platform game developed by Core Design for the Amiga, Atari ST, and 8-Bit computers, as well as for DOS based PCs. It was released in 1989 and published by Rainbird Software in Europe and the rest of the world, and on the MicroPlay label (part of MicroProse) in America. subsequently it was released with two other games - Stunt Car Racer and Microprose Soccer on the Commodore 64 Powerplay 64 cartridge. We won't dwell on the packed in games, and focus only on Rick Dangerous itself (or himself, for those of us with Fond memories!) and how you can play it using an R4 DS Card with your Nintendo DS.

So why talk about a game that was release back in 1989? It is completely relevant and quite conceivable a reason that you're playing what you're playing now. Well, if you know anything about challenging platform games, or are into platform games, you're reading about the grandfather of platform games Really. Many of the elements from this game have been incorporated into innumerous newer generation platform games. Mo than that though, if you think about it, it is because what is old is once again new. With the help and dedication of homebrew programmers that make or remake games for the pure love and joy of it. You can, with the help of an R4 DS Card, play Rick Dangerous on your current generation hand held Nintendo DS and Nintendo DSi consoles. And it won't cost you a cent, because the game is released absolutely FREE. Non commercially, and available for download for your to enjoy on your NDS system (and assorted other systems as well) All you'll need is an R4 for Nintendo DS for Nintendo DS and the NDS itself of course.

The game is largely based on the Indiana Jones movie Raiders of the Lost Ark. Set in 1945, British agent Rick Dangerous travels to the Amazon jungle to search for the lost Goolu tribe. His plane crashes down and Rick Dangerous is in the jungle, only to realize he is not alone and must now escape from the clutches of the angy Goolu's. When the game starts Rick finds himself in a cave running from a rolling boulder, a famous scene from the Indiana Jones movie.

Armed with a pistol and dynamite, Rick must fight hostiles and evade countless traps in 3 more levels. The second level is set inside a pyramid in Egypt. In level three, Rick must venture to the Nazi stronghold of Schwarzendumpf castle to rescue captured Allied soldiers. The rescued soldiers tell him that the Nazis are planning a missile attack on London. consequently, in the last level Rick must infiltrate their secret missile base.

The original garnered fantastic reviews. Many magazines giving the game 92% or more in the reviews. And I am certain of the R4 DS card version / homebrew version for the Nintendo DS / DSi were ever released commercially, it would garner the same type of reviews, for both its retro look and feel and amazing gameplay. The really amazing thing about this is that it is not a commercial release, and that this free homebrew version has the blessing of the original developers as well.

So get out your Nintendo DS, buy an R4 Card and start exploring the amazing world of Rick Dangerous and other great homebrew games for the Nintendo DS system.

Plenty of people are selling this item but you can never be sure who is selling the real deal when shopping online. Unfortunately there is no cut and dried solution to this problem. All you will have to do is to search the online shops very minutely and also read the customers reviews. But if you still don’t feel comfortable then go to the R4 shops. But a good R4 shop vendor will offer you free shopping and also will keep you updated through e-mail.

Ok, finally you have bought an R4 card .Now you want to know how to play your R4 card? It is an amazing device to play games. But you should keep in mind that the R4 doesn’t have internal ram, it uses Micro SD cards. It an adapter, where you have to plug a Micro-SD memory card into the back of it. Therefore, you need a Micro-SD card in order to use an R4 card with your Nintendo DS.

With what is called drag and drop method you will be able to easily play games with R4 card. An R4 is cartridge exactly like a regular DS cart and the Micro SD can slide into the R4, to put game on the R4 and now all you need to do is drag and drop the files you want.

The R4 DS Card Brings the Classic Warhawk to Nintendo DS

The original Wakhawk was first released on the Commodore 64, Atari 8bit and other 8-bit computers in the mid 1980's. WarHawk was a vertical scrolling shoot 'em up game, a genre that was very popular back in the mid 1980's and 1990's. What made WarHawk stand out from the rest of the games released in the genre was the depth of the levels and gameplay. Unlike many shoot em up games of the time – which progressed expectedly and offered little more than more bad guys on the screen as you beat each level, WarHawk changed the background, added bigger bosses and various other elements that made you actually WANT to play and more forward.

Thanks again to the fine developers at Headsoft and our trusty R4 Card homebrew scene, WarHawk is now available for YOU to play absolutely FREE on your Nintendo DS or DSi with the R4 DS Card (R4i SDHC for the DSi owners). The gameplay is true to the original, and while not an exact carbon copy remake or update, it does retain the same graphical feel and the gameplay mechanics themselves are true to the original.

WarHawk was remade and released as an NDS Homebrew Game. Which means that if you own and R4 DS card, it is free to download and play – made that way by the developers, though I would think donations may be an option if you so choose.

One of the things that the homebrew developers at HeadSoft wanted to ensure was that they retained the same "retro" or "old school" feel to the game itself. I think they succeeded in every way. And to put all of this work into a game, for the sheer love and joy of creating (or in this case – recreating) a game and then giving it out to homebrew games at no cost is really something to be applauded.

As for the levels and difficulty in the game, the game has 16 normal levels and once you complete the 16 normal levels, another 16 'mental" levels become available. The developers have said that it is definitely worth it to finish all of the levels – especially the 'mental" levels for the true end and credit sequence that they have created.

From the developers website – below are the game controls for Warhawk DS on the R4 DS card. Playing it is just like playing any NDS game you would buy in the store, but there are some really cool and neat firing modes.

'Start' is used from the title screen to start the game and also within the game to pause. During play, the D-Pad is used for movement and the 'A' button for firing. Firing has 3 modes. A single press will release 2 shots. Press and hold will fire a power shot (12 times the damage and destroys all bases in it's line of fire) and during 'power-up" mode, holding fire will shoot a continuous stream of 16 bullets. Power-up mode can be enabled after level 2. During these levels a small ship will drift down the screen, shooting this will release a power orb that when collected will enable power-up mode for a limited time. Crashing into the drop ship will have the same effect but lose a small amount of energy. Energy can be regained during a level only by destroying a meteor. These take 2 powered shots to kill. Pressing start during game play also offers the option to quit and return to the title screen.

All in all, Warhawk DS is a perfect example of the professional / commercial quality homebrew games you can download and have absolutely free. While I personally suggest some type of donations – give these game creators some form of thanks – so they'll continue to make more of these great games – it is not in any way a requirement to download and play these games. All you really have to do is spend under $20.00 for an R4 DS Card and you are on the way to NDS homebrew heaven!

R4 DS–Nintendo DS Consoles

Nintendo DS very popular with the introduction of the R4 card for Nintendo DS homebrew, and now ISD. There are remakes of classic old school and new and unique games.

The surprising thing is, is a programmer and homebrew games are made available for free download from the Internet. You only need your Nintendo DS or DS R4 card and you can download the game and enjoy your order.

And what kind of games you can play with the R4 card? There are a lot of them really. Right now my favorite for my R4 card retro gaming Lemmings. Lemmings DS is Nintendo DS and DS. R4 card developed by a programmer. Quality Lemmings DS is right in line with many officials and markets games for DS and DSi. The quality of this game is really great. Although the game was released for many platforms, and although Sony has a PSP version of the Nintendo DS seems to really touch the most appropriate format for this game only because of the double screen and the ability to command.

While the game looks great on the Sony PSP, navigate menus and tools and options are very difficult, with a gamepad. The Wii version of Lemmings seems to actually touch, why choose the game – Tools and options for a breeze, as is the case with the computer mouse.

As these homebrew games are of such high quality that people flocked to the R4 card and develop and use what they offer in terms of homebrew games and even your own homebrew DS games.

Lemmings was released in the first game as a game.

First A500 and was then concentrated on the Commodore 64 and PC. Truly one of the best classic old school action / strategy / puzzle games to come this time. While popular, which was also released for the Super Nintendo. And now – thanks for the hard work and commitment in a number of amateur game programmer, you can enjoy on your Nintendo DS or DSi with R4i SDHC.

The Nintendo DS is an incredible machine game that offers a single interface, a wide range of games and a super compact style and design to meet all your portable gaming needs. The introduction of flash media cards for the DS has created a world of new uses for Nintendo’s flagship portable, allowing it to run games and homebrew applications.

This introduction allows you to play MP3, watch movies, play games older consoles through emulators, and play ROM backups of your games.

The R4 DS simply represent the latest in the development of flash based memory cards for the DS. The two maps are essentially the same and differ only in name, at times using microSD memory cards and taken into Slot 1 (DS game slot). Both feature drag and drop ROM and Homebrew (meaning no fiddly patching of files, you literally just copy the files to your micro SD card) and have an easy to use interface with Moon shell built in as default for play MP3 files and video files. Both can be used without dangerous mods to the system or use buggy pass cartridges.

The following fees are 4 things you can do with your DS using the R4 DS Simply.

1. Reading ROM backup files – Contrary to popular belief, the flash memory cards for the DS is not just to play pirated games (although it is possible, and it is a matter of personal ethics or if you do not) and can be used in a variety of legal means. Save ROM backup games you own or on the R4 DS simply is a great way to make your DS even more portable, you do not have to carry your game cartridges with you. It is also a good option if you have young children, who can easily lose the little DS cartridge.

2. Play MP3 and Movies – Using the excellent program Moon shell (Which comes with the R4 DS simply) you can turn your DS into portable media players that can play MP3s and DPG video files. This is great for those who, like myself, who previously toured with bulging pockets trying my DS, IPod, phone and PDA. A set of good quality headphones allow sound to rival the iPod for MP3 playback and the DS Lite super bright, high resolution screens are great for watching Simpson’s episodes on the train. Moon shell will play MP3s natively, and a small free download application called DPG Converter will quickly and easily convert your movies and shows to Moon shell’s DPG format.

3. Turn your DS into a PDA – Using the excellent homebrew DSOrganize program; you can turn your DS into a PDA complete, using inputs via the touch screen. Among its many features, it contains a Scheduler, Calendar, Notes, drawing application and reminders, and my favorite of all uses of the DS Homebrew, the ability to play streaming Internet radio through the wireless connection of the DS.

4. Run Homebrew Applications – Homebrew software, which is software created by programmers and fans for the sole purpose of testing the system, has exploded since the release of the new, easy to use, R4 DS simply. Games ranging from simple applications to full, there is a world of homebrew available for free download from the Internet. Some of the latest software allows you to wonderful new uses for the DS, such as using the DS as a VOIP phone (through the microphone), a wifi hotspot detector, and a web browser and mentioned above DSOrganize PDA software. There are also a series of programs that allow the emulator to play games of the NES, SNES, Game Boy, Sega Master System and Sega Genesis.

R4 Firmware Introduction

As we all know, the R4 Vesion 2 card's firmware has not been updated for since mid 2008. This has affected the game compatibility of R4 card, especially with a lot of newer games (the R4DS isn't faulty – this is because newer games may use different methods for encoding software).

In a somewhat ironic twist, the R4 team has announced on GBAtemp that from September 15th onwards, R4 firmware updates may brick your DS. Why have they been upto this? Why is it that for a long time no firmware update has come out? Do the R4 team despise us? WHHY, R4 team, WHY???!!!

The R4 team Is certainly not going to despise. By the way.

But anyways, for those who have genuine R4 cards, you need not worry! Apparently the bricking only applies to the “R4 clone cards” that are able to function using the R4's firmware. For the rest of you, but, you'll have to find other ways to update your card: Getting the R4 from now on will be playing with Death (for your DS)! Bricking as in completely forcing up your DS! Bricking as in making your DS useless so that it functions better as a brick than an actual gaming console! As soon as this deadly firmware pops-up, the NDS-Roms News team will let you know.

New firmware for R4DS flash card:

1. It supports NDS and GBA games card ans it automatically recognize slot 2 adapter. 2. Frameset can be customised for loading slot 2 GBA games. (save your gbaframe .bmp to _system_ dir) 3. Backup/Restore game saves. (press SELECT to switch to Show Savefiles, choose the SAV file and then press A to backup, chose the BAK file and then press A to restore) 4. You can empty directory and it also supports deleting file. (Press X to del while highlighting the corresponding file or directory) 5. Bug has been fixed for 0970 save complicacy.

There is sometning new that the R4 DS team have released a new version of their firmware for the flash cart.: 1) Optimization delete process; 2) Solve the 0991 issue; 3) Solve issue to some of the games without displays of icon and the title; 4) Support master switch of action replay cheat for real-time game (opening cheats by L+R+START+UP, temporaryly closing cheats by L+R+START+DOWN); 5) When cheats to the same game are in both the official database and the users database, users can choose to use the cheat in any database; 6) Solve the 1070 achiving issue; 7) Solve the 1085 issue; Update Cheat code editor v1.01; 9) Released the list of cheats.

There are some questions questioned frequently by the users.

Is the R4 DS/Firmware can be upgraded? A: Yes! And the best part is that its DEAD SIMPLE and SAFE to do it Do I have to flash my DS firmware in order to operate the R4? B: No firmware tricks are required to use the R4. Don't ever try to change your firmware because if u do so you lose your warranty!

Where would I be without my dad? What would I do if I didn’t have all of those warm, cozy memories of riding a bike for the first time or making a flamethrower out of a match and spray paint during some quality father-son time? I just wouldn’t be the same. But the best memory I share with my dad is definitely playing Super Mario Bros. together when I was just a young lad. Once I first touched the magical words of video games, I never went back.

I bet you’re wondering how this will lead to the impossible happening. Have patience. I’ve grown beyond those young days of killing turtles by spitting fireballs. I’ve continued to play video games, and I’ll admit that I’m kind of obsessed. But my dad, on the other hand, just doesn’t have the time for that sort of thing any more. He gets lost too easily in today’s world of big, button-filled controllers and sprawling level designs. Oh well, I figured, his loss.

So it was no surprise to me when my dad again couldn’t make sense of whatever new-fangled gadgets were on the market. This time it’s the Nintendo DS. Now, I love my DS, and all of the innovative games like Nintendogs and Animal Crossing that it can play. It would be no surprise to find me at Target, buying a new game, like I was a few weeks ago. This time, I was looking for a replacement copy of my cherished Advance Wars: DS (darn those conveniently small games and how easily they are lost!)

But as I scanned the rows with my seasoned game-finding eyes, the world as I knew it came crashing loose. Squadrons of fighter pigs swarmed the skies like soccer moms to an “M" rated video game. Satan had to shovel snow from his drive way. My brother scored high on the IQ test (ouch!). What happened? My dad picked up a video game!

There is always remain a issue regarding its size but its capacity level is amazing. R4 cards has the capacity around 2 GB to 32 GB. One can very easily afford it as its price is quite cheaper. R4DS always available in the market with micro sd card which helps in storing files. If someone finds difficulty in using r4 cards can visit online servies to collect detail information about it.

One should be careful while buying r4 cards as piracy act is active in the market. Besides this clones of r4 ds aremade and sold in the market. So one should consciously use such cards as it might ruined nintendo ds system. So purchase it from reputated retailers. One can buy r4 ds card from online or through local departmental stores. So in this way nintendo ds r4 card has transformed ds into a portable media station with a cheaper price which means alot to the consumers.

How to Crack R4(Memory) Card Password

1.Format

Many users will say "The new R4 Card must be formatted bought," but in fact this assertion is not correct, and some cards do not have to use format. But if you still want to format the memory card, then I have to tell you the best format to use mobile phones, but there is one thing to note: As the cell phone's own CPU speed and interface constraints, format the card slower so be sure to keep the phone fully charged.

According to my experience, 512M card format takes about 10 minutes once, so the phone should try to maintain the power grid for at least 3!

Sometimes the phone format will fail, this time not to conclude that the first card is broken, you can re-format a computer, but the format of the "format" must choose "FAT", or else the card is not formatted identified by cell phone. If the computer can not format, you can then use the "MMCMedic" a restoration of this software. This software applies to MMC and RS-MMC card, SD card can not be used. But SD cards is relatively simple fix, you can use the PDA or digital camera to format on it.

2, Memory card repaired

After formatting, some cards can not use or use occurs during the various errors occur, then you can use the computer system in the "Disk Utility" to repair. Connect card reader, and then right click the drive letter where the memory card, select "Properties - Error-checking", then select "Automatically fix file error" and "Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors", but may take longer used So have some patience.

3, The card data recovery

When accidentally deleted or mistakenly formatted memory card later, as long as no further input data, which generally can recover the data card. If you have lost the new document, sometimes part of the card may restore the original data, this mainly depends on the new file the size of the deposit. To do the following: the tools we need is a computer, card readers and "EasyRecovery" software.

First, the connection card reader, open EasyRecovery, select "data recovery" menu, you have to choose the appropriate option, such as "to restore deleted files."

The second step, the software will require scanning the system drive. Wait, display drivers, select the "full scan", if no memory card, you need to reconnect the reader.

The third step, the scan is complete, there catalog recovery options, according to the specific circumstances of data storage options. Such as selecting MMC (memory card, this is usually the name), after the process is the operation of the software fool. Believe that action to this point, we all clear, it simply is to choose a folder on your computer to restore the data store.

4, Memory card password crack

When Setting card password, the phone C / system directory will be more than a Mmcsstore documents stored here with the memory card password, use document management software (seleq) or (fileman) to find this file, rename Mmcsstore . txt, mobile phones can recognize the file, open the file on that card password [Note Nokia applicable]

Get Hundreds of Free Nintendo DS R4 Cards Game - Nintendo DS Homebrew Makes it Possible

When I first attempted trying to learn everything about Nintendo DS Homebrew, I was fascinated by the concept that there were hundreds of games and applications available for my Nintendo R4 DS - Absolutely FREE! I have to admit that I had no idea as to what Homebrew software was. I read about it in online Nintendo DS forums, and kept hearing about interesting and sometimes amazing homebrew applications and homebrew games that I could simply download for free and play them on my Nintendo DS or DS Lite.

The reality of cost free video games and applications would be exciting to any gamer, and I am definitely no exception to the rule. So, just what is homebrew? A NDS Lite homebrew game is software written by clever game designers for the Nintendo DS handheld. A very large number of the games being of the highest quality. Homebrew greatly increases the functionality of the DS. And boy did I dig up video games. A number of the homebrew Nintendo DS Games are lower quality, but a vast majority of them would make even the best commercial games jealous.

After spending my time searching for more information and I spent most of a full week doing nothing but research, and lots of homebrew game downloading, I realized that what I needed to buy was a device that allowed me to store and then play all of the homebrew software that I now had sitting on my PC hard drive. From my research I discovered that there are some 15 or 20 homebrew / development and flash kits available for the Nintendo DS and the Gameboy Advance. One of the most popular units was the Supercard SD and a very new one, called the M3 DS Simply. These little devices are touted by homebrew gamers as the easiest to use, and most affordable Gameboy Advance and Nintendo DS Media managers / development systems.

If you have a Gameboy Advance and Nintendo DS Lite hand held systems, I would recommend the Supercard SD because the Supercard SD can also be used on your Gameboy Advance. And there are literally thousands of homebrew games and applications available for the Gameboy Advance system. Nintendo DS Homebrew will catch up to those numbers too, and perhaps will have even more free games and applications.

Where do you find all of these free applications and games? Just fire up your internet browser and go to your favorite search engine and type in either NINTENDO DS HOMEBREW or GAMEBOY ADVANCE HOMEBREW and you'll get a list pages and pages long of websites that talk about, cater to, or just plain carry all of the latest FREE homebrew software. It's almost an adventure really. And I would not be surprised if some of these hombrew programmers end up being commercial game programmers in the very near future. The quality of the games is just that good!

Both the Supercard SD and the M3 DS Simply / R4 DS do much more than just play homebrew Nintendo DS Roms. They play movies, mp3 music, allow you to check out your latest digital photos in the JPEG picture format that most digital cameras use. Both of these units also allow you to read ebooks right on your Nintendo DS screen in the form of TXT documents. Now, when I say movies, I really mean movies. With the included software you can convert your DVD movies to play on the Supercard SD or the M3 DS Simply, and watch your movies on the go.

The Supercard SD (SD stands for Secure Digital) and the M3 DS Simply both have an advantage over many development kits. The Supercard SD uses low cost Secure Digital memory r4 cards, for unlimited storage capacity, whie the M3 DS Simply uses microSD cards. You can easily find SD and microSD cards at any electronics store such as Radio Shack, BestBuy and even on eBay if you want a bargain and can wait a few days to get the item in the mail. I make reference to an advantage because almost all other flash kits have built in memory. While this can be a good thing, it does hold you back when you're looking for extra storage for movies, games, or applications.

R4 SDHC DSi Version - Which R4 SDHC Work In Your Nintendo DS

The most run-of-the-mill issue that users experience with the Nintendo R4 Card has in reality very little to do with the actual R4 DS Card itself. In fact, the most basic issue, the Nintendo R4 Card not operating is invariably as a consequence of someone purchasing the incorrect variant.

There are respective editions, and here I'll be talking about the R4i SDHC DSi edition of the R4 cards. The R4i SDHC DSi version was developed for the new Nintendo DSi.It is however totally backwards compatible with all variations of the Nintendo DS.

As with anything these days, just as there are unique makes of the Nintendo DS system, there are likewise distinct makes of R4 Card products. There are models for the firsy and eldest NDS and then there are numerous for the recent Nintendo DSiAnd this is where people experience problems with their Nintendo R4 Card.

You see, the problem is not even remotely with the Nintendo DS R4 itself, but with the fact that in all probability, if your Nintendo DSi is not booting up with the R4 Card inside, you have most certainly purchased the inaccurate version of the R4 DS Card.

When the Nintendo DS first came out, there was simply one version available, and as such only one variation of the r4 ds card was required as well. The premiere Nintendo DS R4 ran without any troubles in the very first revision of the NDS hand-held system. With the release of the Nintendo DS lite variant of the NDS, there was actually no chips or components that had to be changed internally in the NDS Lite console. The alterations were genuinely nothing more than cosmetic. The insides, the firmware and everything else, remained identical to the premiere Nintendo DS itself.

That did nonetheless change with the release of the Nintendo DSi.Not only did they take away the GBA card slot, so that playing your Gameboy Advance games became out of the question on the DSi, they totally re wrote the menu system making homebrew gaming impossible. And in reality it had very little if anything at all to do with them adding an SD Card port. It's accurate that the hardware changed, but more than that, the firmware that ran the DSi changed too. With the shifts in hardware and firmware on the NDSi console, the R4 Card also had to change in order to stay compatible.

The premiere Nintendo R4 would no more be able to run with the new menu scheme on the Nintendo DSi.The Nintendo R4 menu scheme was created for the original NDS.Very promptly after the release of the Nintendo DSi, the R4 Team came up with a answer in the form of the R4i SDHC DSi for the Nintendo DSi system. This is a new variation of the R4 DS Card. The R4i SDHC DSi version was made from the ground up. The menu system was re developed and support was added for the newest 1.4 edition of the Nintendo DSi firmware.Without this update of the R4i SDHC card itself, it simply could not run in the new Nintendo DSi.

And this is where nearly of the mix-up comes in, and the stories of an R4 Card not running in the new Nintendo DSi system. Most individuals don't see the difference, and woefully, most sellers of the R4 are likewise not educating their customers correctly.Buying an R4 DS card, which was made to play on the NDS and NDS Lite will most certainly not function in the new Nintendo DSi.Customers receive them, set them up, plug them in, and then are foiled by the fact that it does not work.

And almost all of the time, the issue is simply that they purchased the original R4 card and NOT the new R4 SDHC DSi Card which was produced and developed for the new Nintendo DSi system. As I said originally in this article, buying the R4i SDHC in truth is your easiest answer. The R4 SDHC edition not only works in the new DSi system, but it is 100% backwards compatible, and will work just as well in the original Nintendo DS and DS Lite systems too.

The R4 Card And Emulators For DS Means Retro Gaming Fun

Some of my fondest R4 memories of video gaming are of my brother and I opening up our Christmas present some 20+ years ago to discover inside the box an Atari 2600 with 10 games. While younger game players don't have any hands on experience with the Atari 2600, everyone has heard of it and has seen at least some of the screenshots out there on this thing we call the world wide web. Great memories indeed. My brother and I spents hours upon hours playing some of the best home conversions of arcade favorites for years to come on our good old Atari 2600.

Thankfully with the creation of Emulators for classic consoles, we're now all able to enjoy some of the timeless classic games many of us grew up with.

For those of you that are not sure just what an "emulator" is, let me briefly explain. Emulators for the DS (or emulators for any other platform) are software programs that are created for the sole purpose of running games or applications that were written for or created for another piece of hard ware. For example, we know that an Atari 2600 can play Atari 2600 games without any trouble. That's because the software or cartridges that are used on the Atari 2600 were made for and created with the Atari 2600 hardware in mind. Thus, the games run perfectly on the Atari 2600. Emulators for the DS aim to recreate, by way of software, all of the different bit of hardware and memory maps that a game would be looking to utilize or work with as if it were an actual Atari 2600 console itself. And it's no easy task to have one piece of hardware fully emulate or mimic another.

While the Atari 2600 was revolutionary back in its heyday, the Nintendo DS or DSi is easily hundreds of times more powerful and capable of rendering sounds, graphics, even video. The trick however is to utilize and write software that will turn that Nintendo DS into an Atari 2600. It's much like having an Atari 2600 running ON TOP OF the Nintendo DS itself. While the Atari 2600 was a "slow" game console by today's standards, the Nintendo DS has to work twice as hard - or harder - to run both the software and then run the actual games themselves because it is NOT an Atari 2600.

Thankfully with years and years of NDS homebrew development emulator creators and programmers seem to have many things down to a science, and their software can mimic and emulate the hardware of many of the classic video game and arcade systems. No small feat considering the heavy processing work that has to be done by the NDS itself. In my article on Nintendo DS Homebrew I explained what homebrew was and why it is created. Emulators for the DS are also part of the homebrew umbrella. While not stand alone homebrew games themselves, they enable playing of retro games by their sheer existence.

Emulators have been around since the days of the old PC computers. Even the old Apple computers had emulators released for them, some in the form of software while others were hardware boards that enable users to use PC specific software on their Apple computers.

Emulation however really took off as PC's got faster and quicker. In the early and mid 90's there were emulators for most of the classic video game systems, all playable on any IBM / PC machine. You could fire up your PC and start playing your favourite Arcade games or Commodore 64 games. I have fond memories of reliving some of my childhood game playing on my PC in-between doing my regular work (which is what a PC was for after all, right?).

Many of these early emulators have since been ported to virtually every platform that could support the speed required to run the games or programs. And with the R4 Card for the Nintendo DS, you're now able to enjoy many of your classic systems, in the palm of your hand. As hand held consoles become more and more powerful, it was only a matter of time that the most popular emulators were ported over. The only thing that was really holding back their potential was the inability to use these emulators on the Nintendo DS or DSi. That all changed with the release of NDS Flash Cards like the R4 Card for the NDS and the R4i SDHC for the Nintendo DSi. No longer did emulator makes have to even consider creating a cartridge, when the R4 Card was the ultimate homebrew / emulator card available.

One of my favourite emulators on my Nintendo DS and R4 Card setup is Stella. Stella is an Atari 2600 emulator that allows you to load and play all of your favourite Atari 2600 games, right on your Nintendo DS console. Games like Pitfall, Phoenix, and Journey bring back memories of days now long gone. And instead of having to pull out and dust off my Atari 2600 console, I can now comfortably play them on my Nintendo DS system thanks to my R4 Card. Being able to carry around not only some truly unique homebrew games, but also some of my favourite old classic games is what keeps me coming back to the Nintendo DS instead of systems like the PSP.

StellaDS is a complete emulator. By this I mean that once you load it on your R4 Card you'll be greeted by the familiar blips and bleeps of your favourite Atari 2600 games. The games run just as quickly and as well as they did right on the Atari 2600 itself. The novelty is that I can carry around my collection on my NDS and get in a game of Pitfall no matter where I am.

It's homebrew software like emulation that really makes the Nintendo DS stand out for die hard gamers. While it's great to have unique and touch friendly games, having the option to play some of our favourite classics right on the NDS is what makes the Nintendo DS (and not the DSi) stand out from the crowd.

In my next article I'll do an in-depth review of another very popular 8-bit game system that you can also now emulate on your Nintendo DS or DSi. So make sure you keep checking back for more. And while you're waiting, grab your Nintendo DS and get an R4 Card. You won't regret it once you get your hands on your favourite classic games.

How to Use Digital Drawing on Your Nintendo DS R4 Cards

The Nintendo DS r4 card is currently one of the most popular handheld gaming devices. The plethora of addicting and intriguing games available for it, and its ease of accessibility (like most Nintendo products) has made it a commercial success.

You have probably seen at least a few people carrying their DS's around with them, often tapping away on the nifty touchpad. You may even own one yourself, and know exactly how great these little handhelds are! However, did you know that you can do far more than just play games on a DS, such as turn it into a digital drawing tablet? With a DS, the right software, and a little tinkering (nothing too difficult), you can create your own masterpieces using the touchpad!

First off, you will need to buy a Nintendo DS, and a flash cart. Flash cartridges are used by many homebrew developers, and they allow the user to load files from a PC onto a Nintendo DS. The R4 Revolution card is one of the most popular flash cards that works with the DS. It costs about $40, and is available online.

Once you have installed the flash card (it fits just like a normal DS cartridge), and figured out how to navigate the in-game menu, you are set to get the software for artwork. Go to download the latest version of the program 'Colors.' Created by Jens Andersson, it is a powerful application that allows users to draw on their DS. Once you have downloaded the program, extract the necessary files from archive using Winzip or Winrar, and then follow the Read-Me instructions on how to place the files on your Flashcard.

For the R4, all you need to do is copy the Colors.nds file to your card root directory (just copy and paste). Then, place your cartridge into your DS, turn it on, and browse for the Colors program file. Open it, and you can start creating virtual masterpieces on your DS! If you have a compatible wireless connection, you can even email images you create from your DS. Otherwise, you will need to hook the flash card (or SD card) up to your computer to extract the images. They are automatically saved in the wonderful .PNG format, and can be found in the Colors directory on your card.

The program Colors features a myriad of useful tools, including pressure sensitivity, replay/undo, hard and circular brush, 2-stage zoom. It's quite a powerful application, and allows for some very detailed images, as seen in the online Colors gallery (see link below). It's definitely a handy application to have on your R4 DS!
